The Association of International Private Committees for the Safeguarding of Venice
Is a federation of non profit organizations, whose main purpose is to promote and finance restorations of Venice artistic heritage. Moreover, they exert a constant watch on its artistic, urban and natural heritage and intervene, either directly or through international media, in order to prevent potentially harmful initiatives. They also grant scholarships and finance scientific activities in the field of restoration, and undertake fund-raising promotional activities.
The initiatives promoted and financed by the Committees since 1966 to date have made possible about 1,000 restorations regarding artifacts, publicly owned, belonging to the historical and artistic heritage of the lagoon City.
